Q&A: Game Producer, Jack Marshall, speaks to Chipmonkz Slots

Big Bite Push Ways' Game Producer, Jack Marshall, recently spoke to Chipmonkz Slots about our latest thrilling release!

We’re here to talk about Big Bite Push Ways, can you start by giving our readers a brief overview of the game and what players can expect to find?
Big Bite Push Ways is one of our most visually impressive titles to date and delivers a combination of Instant Prizes and Jackpots, all of which are collected by the Orca Symbol. One of the standout features of this release is its Hot Zones, which can land on the reels and split any symbol into two. This symbol-splitting mechanic increases the potential number of ways to win up to 262,144 ways in total. With each new spin, the Hot Zones nudge down by one position, creating a real sense of anticipation for players.

How much does Big Bite Push Ways differ from the original Big Bite game?
Big Bite Push Ways is quite different from Big Bite, the main difference is that the reel set is 6x4, remaining the same throughout the Base Game and Free Spins Feature. Another key difference is the introduction of the Push Ways mechanic and the associated Hot Zones.

Can you tell us more about the Push Ways mechanic, and what role it plays in the game?
Push Ways is a brand-new mechanic that makes its hotly-anticipated debut in this release. It sees a Hot Zone overlay come into play which spins through in stacks of 4, and can land on any reel. Any Symbols that lands within or cascade into a Hot Zone will split into two. Split Symbols increase the ways of winning to a maximum of 262,144 ways.

Fishing themed slots are hugely popular amongst players, why do you think the theme performs so well?
Ultimately I think it comes down to familiarity. Players recognise this style of game from the get-go and have a strong understanding of how they work. Most fishing game feature a simple design and not a great deal of complexity, which means there’s no fear in giving them a go.

Is this game in any way related to the Razor franchise? Or is it its own standalone title?
Whilst both titles obviously have a strong connection to the ocean (and two very fierce inhabitants of the sea), the two titles are actually unrelated!

This is a low volatility game, something we don’t see as often as its high volatility counterpart. Do you still see a big appetite for low volatility content?
We wanted to cater towards a wider target audience by lowering the volatility, it also felt the best fit for this specific title when we were testing things out. In terms of player preferences, we see a good demand for both low volatility and high volatility content.

What does the future hold for the Big Bite franchise as a whole?
Right now it's far too early to say what the future holds for Big Bite as a franchise, but we've seen success with some fantastic sequels in the past! So watch this space.
